Live Blackjack

Blackjack is the most popular casino card game in the world.  The name Blackjack originated in an American casino. This happened when they decided to popularize the game by paying a bonus to any bettor holding the Ace of Spades and either the Jack of Clubs or Jack of Spades.

The object of the game is to obtain a total card count higher than that of the dealer without going over 21.  Are you ready? Let’s PLAY!

How to Play Live Blackjack?

Below are the simple steps you need to follow to start playing Live Blackjack.

  • Select a seat by clicking on any seat marked OPEN SEAT.
  • Select a chip value.
  • While the game is in “Place Your Bets” mode, click on one of the 3 bet locations. Keep clinking in the betting area until the number of chips displayed equals the amount you wish to bet.
  • If you click in the center of the bet area, you will place a Main Bet.
  • If you click on the Pairs icon on the top left of the bet area, you will place a Pairs Bet.
  • If you click on the Rummy icon on the top right of the bet area, you will place a Rummy Bet.
  • Click “Clear Bets” if you wish to remove all bets from the table.
  • Click “Stand Up” if you wish to either leave your seat and/or clear your bets from the table.
  • When the dealer pulls the first card, the game will go into “No More Bets” mode. This prevents you from clearing your bets or standing up.

Dynamic of the Game

The system will deal you and the dealer two cards each.  The dealer will deal your cards face up but only the dealer’s second card face up.  If the dealer gets an Ace face-up, you may buy insurance.

The live play will revolve from Seat 1 to Seat 7. When your turn comes, review your cards and then choose one of the following actions:

  • Click “Hit” to have another card dealt to you.
  • Click “Stand” if you are satisfied with your hand and your wager.
  • Click “Double” if you are wish to double your initial wager and take exactly one more card.
  • Click “Split” if you receive two cards of equal value and wish to split them into two new hands of one card each.

After making your betting decisions, the dealer plays out the round and calculates any winnings.

To play again, simply click on “Rebet,” and the system will place again your bet or bets from the last round and in the same locations.

You may choose to click the “Auto Rebet” check box to continue re-betting automatically on every round.

If you choose to “Clear Bets”, you may place a new bet or click “Rebet” to repeat your bet or bets from the last round you played. Each new round will begin automatically.

Rules of the Game

The Live Blackjack game manually shuffles a six-deck shoe. Each table has seven available seats. To keep your seat, you must continue to wager on every round.

When your turn comes, you will have the option to Hit, Stand, Double or Split.
If you do not respond within the allotted time, the system will play your hand according to the optimal player strategy known as the “Basic Strategy for Timeouts” when playing Blackjack Classic, as displayed in the chart below:

basic strategy blackjack game chart. Yellow, red, gray and white

If a player has timed out or failed to respond and pure basic strategy dictates to Double, the system will complete the hand by taking a HIT. We will never push chips out onto the table.

If a player has timed out or failed to respond and pure basic strategy dictates to Split, then the hand will be completed as a normal ‘hard’ hand. For example, if a player has 8H, 8C and times out/fails to respond, then the hand will be treated as a 16 and will be provided with a HIT.

Other important actions to know about are:

  • Dealer Hits on soft 17.
  • Dealer peeks for Blackjack on a ten or an Ace.
  • You may double on any two-card combination.
  • You may only Split once.
  • You may Double after Split.
  • If you Split Aces, you will receive exactly one card on each hand.
  • Insurance pays 2:1.
  • You may bet on any combination of the Main Bet (standard American Blackjack) and the side bets of Pairs and Rummy.

Main Bet: Standard American Blackjack.

In order to participate in the Main Bet, you must wager separately in the center of the bet location and it will be scored as it follows:

  • If your hand is greater than the dealer’s and does not go over 21, you win and the payout is 1:1.
  • The face cards – Jack, Queen, and King – all have a value of 10, Aces have a value of 1 or 11, and the remaining cards are worth their face value.
  • If your first two cards are an Ace and a 10 value card (10, J, Q, K), you have a Blackjack and it pays 3:2.
  • If your hand exceeds 21, you bust and automatically lose the hand.
  • If you have the same card total as the dealer, there is no winner and your wager is returned.  This is known as a Push.
  • The dealer stands on hard 17 and above and draws on 16 and below. Dealer will draw on soft 17.
  • If the dealer’s face-up card is an ace, you can buy insurance equal to the half of the amount of your Main Bet.  If you choose to take insurance and the dealer has a Blackjack, you win 2:1.
  • The outcome of the Rummy bet has no effect on any other bet (Main bet or Pair bet). They are completely independent.

Pairs Side Bet

  • To participate in the pairs bet, you must wager separately by clicking on the icon displayed in the top left of the bet location.
  • If your initial two cards are a Pair – two cards of the same rank such as 3C, 3H or 7S, 7H or KD, KC you win 11:1.
  • If your initial two cards are not a Pair, you lose your Pair wager.
  • The outcome of the Pair bet has no effect on the Main Bet or Rummy bet.  They are completely independent.

Rummy Side Bet

  • To participate in the pairs bet, you must wager separately by clicking on the icon displayed in the top right of the bet location.
  • If your initial two cards plus the Dealer’s Up Card are a Rummy, you win 9:1.
  • Winning Rummy hands are either 3 cards of the same rank (eg. 4H, 4S, 4D) OR 3 cards of the same suit (eg. AH, 4H, 10H) OR a 3 card straight (eg. 3H, 4D, 5S).
  • If your initial two cards are not Rummy, you lose your Rummy wager.
  • The outcome of the Rummy bet has no effect on any other bet such as Main Bet or Rummy bet.  They are completely independent.

Back Betting

  • Back betting enables you to wager behind another player allowing you to bet and experience the same result as they do, win, lose or push.
  • The person you are betting behind (the person in the seat) will make all of the player decisions. Please take note that if the seated player chooses to Split or Double, you must follow.
  • The player sitting in the main seat will make all of the decisions.  You are backing their hand and their decisions. We suggest you watch a player’s decisions before backing them.  If you like their style of play, then you may wish to backbet behind them.
  • If the player you are back betting behind loses connectivity or times out before making a decision the hand will be completed according to Basic Strategy.
  • To back bet, click the check box in the bottom right corner of your game window, which reads “Enable Back Betting”. The seats available for back betting are shown with yellow outlines.  If you also have the Auto Rebet feature enabled, your back bets will also auto-rebet as long as there is a player in the main seat.

When there are no seats available at a table or if you simply want to have more action, you may place bets on other player’s hands by using a feature called “Back betting”.

Exceptions

In the event of human misdeals or a technical problem of any kind, we will void all hands and return the original bets to the players.

In the event that you lose connectivity during the live game, any bets you made will remain in play as they would in a land-based casino.  You will either win, lose or push based on the cards you have in play at the time you lost connection.

We do NOT tolerate professional card counters in The Den’s Live Dealer. We reserve the right to immediately close professional card counters accounts and retain any balances obtained through this method.

Any issues or inactivity by other players at your table, will not, just like any land-based casino, affect the result of your hand nor warrant any reimbursements.

Live Blackjack Early Payout

You can bet on one, two or all three hands every time.  You don’t need to wait for a seat as this is a game full of action and very fast play. The dealers will always deal the cards according to the optimal player strategy known to professional players as Basic Strategy.  The benefits of this are both fast and consistent play.  Your result will never be affected by another player’s poor decision nor will you have to wait.

How to play Live Blackjack Early Payout?

While Basic Strategy will offer an exceptional game payout of 99.5%, blackjack players want choices.  For each hand where you have placed a wager, you can either follow the Basic Strategy decision to HIT/STAND/DOUBLE or SPLIT or choose a different option.
The Basic Strategy used for the Blackjack Early Payout game is below.

blackjack extented payout chart. Yellow, green, red, gray and white

H = HIT.  S= STAND.  Dn= DOUBLE else Hit.  Ds= DOUBLE else Stand. P = SPLIT.

When playing the game, the default action will be highlighted in bright blue, however, you may select to act differently and choose an option highlighted in silver.

For example, if the bettor has a 15 and the dealer has a 10, Basic Strategy indicates to HIT.  However, a bettor may choose to STAND while other bettors accept to HIT.  If a bettor chooses to STAND, the next card that comes out will not affect the hand and will appear as a Ghost Card on the user interface.

In all cases, the bettor may elect to take fewer cards than Basic Strategy recommends (ie STAND or DOUBLE when Basic Strategy says to HIT).  However, the bettors will never be allowed to HIT when the Basic Strategy says STAND because the dealer will always follow Basic Strategy no matter what the bettor chooses.

However, the most amazing feature of this game is Early Payout. Each time a hand changes, the bettor will be offered an Early Payout amount highlighted in Green, which is the immediate payout you may take to end the hand before any more cards are dealt.

For example, if the bettor has a 20 and the dealer has a 10, the bettor may take over 50% profit immediately – a very wise decision if the dealer ends up with 20!

Rules

  • Blackjack Early Payout uses a six-deck shoe that is manually shuffled.
  • It is a European style Blackjack, so there is No Blackjack peek by the dealer, meaning the bettor loses the total of the bet, including after doubling or splitting, if the dealer has blackjack.
  • Dealer Hits on soft 17.
  • You may only Split once.
  • Double after Split allowed.
  • When splitting Aces, you will receive exactly one card on each hand.
  • Insurance pays 2:1.

Side Bets

There are two side bets available on each of the three boxes: PAIRS and RUMMY.

  • PAIRS bets pay 11:1 and win on any pair (e.g. 4 – 4, Q – Q, A – A).  If the Player’s first two cards are a pair, you win!
  • RUMMY bets pay 9:1. This bet is also known as 2 plus 1 in some parts of the world. This bet uses a combination of 3 cards: the bettor’s first two cards PLUS the Dealer’s UP card.  There are 3 ways to win a RUMMY bet:
    • A 3 card straight (e.g. 4H, 5D, 6S).
    • 3 of the same card value (e.g. 10H, 10D, 10S)
    • 3 of the same suit / flush (e.g. 2D, 9D, KD)

Live Baccarat

Baccarat is a very simple comparing card game played between two hands, the “player” and the “banker”. Each baccarat coup or round of play has three possible outcomes: “Player”, meaning the player has the higher score, “Banker” and “Tie”.

How to play Live Baccarat?

Though the game is simple, baccarat follows strict dealing rules. Players play Live Baccarat from a six-deck shoe.  All face cards and 10s have no value.  Count cards less than 10 at face value, and value Aces at 1. The suits of the cards do not play a role in the game.  Only single-digit values are valid.  Any count that reaches a double digit drops the left digit.  Count 15 as 5, and also count 25 as 5. Each hand consists of no more than three cards and the baccarat rules do not allow dealing a fourth card under any circumstances.

To start, the players bet on either Banker, Player or Tie.  Both Player and Banker pay even money, but a winning Banker bet commands a 5% commission.  A Tie bet pays 8:1.  The goal in baccarat is to reach a point total of 9 with your hand.

The system will give two cards to both the Player’s hand and the Banker’s hand; first to the Player and then to the Banker.  Banker and or Player may be dealt a third card based on the following three-card-rules.  It is not necessary to learn these rules to play, they are compulsory decisions and therefore automatic.

Rules

  • Player’s Third Card-Rule.
    • If either the Player or the Banker has a total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards no further cards are drawn.  The resulting hand is called a Natural and the hand is over. If the Player’s total is less than or equal to 5 the Player’s hand draws a third card. If the Player does not draw a third card, then the Banker’s hand will stand on 6 or more and take a third card on a total of 5 or less.
    • If the Player does take a third card, then the Banker’s third-card-rule below will determine if the banker takes a third card.
  • Banker’s Third Card-Rule.
    • If the Bank’s total is 2 or less then the bank draws a card, regardless of what the player’s third card is. If the Bank’s total is 3 then the bank draws a third card unless the Player’s third card was an 8. If the Bank’s total is 4 then the bank draws a third card unless the Player’s third card is a 0, 1, 8, or 9. If the Banks total is 5 then the bank draws a third card if the Player’s third card is 4, 5, 6, or 7. If the Bank’s total is 6 then the bank draws a third card if the Player’s third card was a 6 or 7.
    • If the Banks total is 7 then the bank stands.

After the dealer follows the third card dealing rule, the winning hand is the one that closest to 9 without going over.

Live Super 6 Baccarat

Super 6 is a popular variant of Baccarat, a simple game with three types of bets:

       Banker bet or “Banco”
       Player bet or “Punto”
       Tie bet or “Egalite”

As it shares many similarities with Baccarat, it also follows some strict dealing rules that you need to learn to master this game.

How to play Live Super 6 Baccarat?

Count cards less than 10 at face value, and consider Aces worth 1. All face cards and 10s have no value.  Count cards less than 10 at face value, and consider Aces as worth 1. The suits of the cards do not play a role in the game.  The goal in Super 6, as in Baccarat, is to reach a point total of 9 with your hand. Only single-digit hand values are valid; any hand count that reaches a double-digit drops the left digit. Count 5 as 5, and also count 25 as 5.  Each hand consists of no more than three cards; the Super 6 rules do not allow dealing a fourth card under any circumstances.

When the game still allows placing bets, before a hand is dealt, the bettor could clear all bets currently on the layout by clicking the “Clear Bets” button. “Rebet” will place the exact same bets from the previous game. The “Auto Rebet” checkbox allows you to conveniently rebet the currently placed wager amount(s) when checked. The system also has an “Undo Last’ option that will allow you to clear the last bet/chio off the table.

To start, the players bet on either Banker, Player or Tie. Both Player and Banker pay even money, 1:1. A Tie bet pays 8:1. Now the game is called Super 6 because when the Banker wins with a hand value of 6, the game pays 1:2, which is 50% of the bet!

The live dealer gives two cards first to the Player and then to the Banker. Based on the three-card rules, the system could deal another card to either or both the Player and the Bank. Below we will explain the Three-Card Rules. It is not necessary to learn these rules to play as they are compulsory decisions and therefore automatic.

Rules

  • Player’s Third-Card Rule
    • If either the Player or the Bank have a total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards, no further cards are drawn.  The resulting hand is called a Natural and the hand is over. If the Player’s total is less than or equal to 5 the Player’s hand draws a third card. If the Player does not draw a third card, then the bank’s hand will stand on 6 or more and will take a third card on a total of 5 or less.
    • If the Player does take a third card, then the Bank’s third-card rule below will determine if the bank takes a third card.
  • Banker’s Third-Card Rule.
    • If the Bank’s total is 2 or less then the bank draws a card, regardless of what the player’s third card is. If the Banks total is 3 then the bank draws a third card unless the Player’s third card was an 8. If the Banks total is 4 then the bank draws a third card unless the Player’s third card was a 0, 1, 8, or 9. If the Banks total is 5 then the bank draws a third card if the player’s third card is 4, 5, 6, or 7. If the Banks total is 6 then the bank draws a third card if the player’s third card was a 6 or 7.
    • If the Banks total is 7 then the bank stands.

After the Dealer has followed the third-card dealing rule, the winning hand will be the one that is closest to 9 without going over.

To view the game payouts, click on the left-side Rules icon to see the Bet Limits and Payouts.

What side bets are available in Live Super 6?

Super 6 Side Bet. Offer insurance as a side bet for a Banker 6 win. If you take the Super 6 side bet, you bet at 12:1 odds that the Banker will win with a score of 6. To participate in the Super 6 side bet, bettors must click on the circled 6 located on the right of the main bet area to place a wager on it.

Player and Banker Side Bet

Baccarat Pairs is a side wager on Baccarat, Punto 2000 and Super 6. It is declared a winner if the first two cards dealt to the Player or the Banker constitute a pair, for example, 10 – 10 or K – K. All other outcomes will be losers for this side bet. Players may also place a wager on Player Pair or Banker Pair, which pay 11:1, or Either Pair (5:1). This side bet may be placed in addition to or instead of a Player or Banker bet.

Dragon Bonus Side Bet

The Dragon Bonus is a Baccarat side bet. Pays when the hand is a Natural winner, or when the hand wins by at least 4 points. To participate in the Dragon Bonus bet, player must wager by betting in the area labeled as “Player Dragon”, “Banker Dragon” or both.

Natural winners pay even money on the Dragon Bonus bet. In the event of a Natural that tie, the Dragon Bonus bet ties as well. Non-Natural winners that win by at least 4 points, also pay even money and the larger the margin of victory, the larger the payout. For example, a non-Natural hand that wins by 9 points receives a payout of 30:1! Below you will find the Dragon Payout chart.
